A combination of Clare and Coonawarra and a pretty impressive combination at work here. Both regions can have a slightly leafy cool mint character, but in this excellent year that is slightly muted with more robust, opulent chocolaty blackcurrant fruit dominating. It's a beautifully crafted wine with a velvety smooth palate supported by fine tannins and slinky fine oak. An excellent wine suited for current drinking but with good medium-term cellaring.
