A 70/30 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the Tenuta le Colonne 2019 Bolgheri Superiore is a small production of 6,000 (rather heavy) glass bottles from a site with sandy, gravel-rich soils. It reveals pure aromas of black fruit, dried blueberry, toasted oak, cherry and crushed stone. This softly textured, medium to full-bodied red also shows a pretty hint of earth, forest floor and delicate blue flower. Drink date: 2024-2035. Score - 95+.
