Bright and intense on the nose, with some candied brown sugar and delicate flinty notes, the 2020 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese reveals a finely weathered slate aroma intertwined with ripe and generous but still fine and elegant fruit. Mouth-filling, round and seamlessly textured, this is an elegant and balanced Spätlese with juicy, stimulating, salty fruit and finish. Again, a very sensual WSU that was bottled with 8.5% stated alcohol. Tasted from AP 7 21 in November 2021. Drink: 2021-2055. Score - 92. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Dec. 9, 2021)
