- 750 ml bottle
Product details
This project has been under development since 2015, when viticulturist Pedro Izquierdo came into contact with the Mapuche community of Buchahueico, in the Purén zone of the Malleco Valley. He began teaching viticulture to the local families there, and today they have four vineyards, 2.5 hectares each. Winemaker Viviana Navarrete (Viña Leyda) is also in contact with the community and is in charge of making the wine. 60% of the volume was aged in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve the local fruit, and the rest in oak and concrete. It was also 35% whole-cluster fermented. The ripe sensation of the fruit is accentuated and accompanied by smoky tones, deep and intense ripe red fruits, and earthy touches that seem to come from the area's volcanic soils. The body has a lot of grip, with firm tannins that project alongside those deep and juicy flavors. An excellent version of one of the best pinots in Chile. [Drink till 2028.] Score - 96.
