First made back in 1983, when white Riojas were a much harder sell than they are today, this impressive, well-balanced Viura comes from a four-hectare, 39-year-old parcel on the Monte Yerga. Foudre-fermented and aged, it has wild herb and jasmine aromas, racy acidity and flavours of quince and waxed lemons. Drink date: 2023-2028. Score - 93. (timatkin.com, Rioja Special Report 2023)
