Rías Baixas in northern Spain has been producing Albariño for centuries. Some accounts report vines in the region that are over 300 years old. The area's proximity to the Atlantic Ocean bathes the vines in frequent sprays of sea salt, resulting in wines with a briny character accompanied by notes of honeydew, grapefruit, and raw almond.
