Sagrantino is a native varietal of Umbria, said to have been brought to the region by Franciscan monks. Expect generous aromas of red fruit with spices and subtle hints of vanilla and chocolate. The palate is fresh and well-structured with concentrated tannins and a long finish. Ideal with roasts, game and aged cheeses.
