A thin-skinned, late-ripening grape widely planted in nearly every warm-climate region, Cannonau (Grenache to the French, Garnacha to the Spanish) produces rich, flavourful red wines. The limestone soil of Sardinia infuses this wine with flavours of grilled plum, Italian leather, and dried herbs.
