Family-owned and -run, Delord was founded in 1893 by the aptly named Prosper Delord. Prosper was a travelling distiller, carting his portable pot still from farm to farm and producing Armagnac on-site. Today, Delord produces Armagnac from small antique Sier alembic stills that produce roughly 30 L of Bas Armagnac each hour. The Delord 25-year-old incorporates suggestions of leather, toffee, caramel, vanilla and nuts during its time in barrel. This will be an elegant, complex expression of this classic style.
